How We Work
Understanding the Need
We are designed to positively address challenges and provide the necessary support to ensure people can continue living comfortably and safely.
The Process of Arranging
The first step is to assess people’s needs and preferences. This involves consultations with them, family members and healthcare professionals.
Optimal Quality of Life
We aim to improve overall well-being by supporting physical, emotional and social needs, leading to a higher quality of life for our residents.
Key Principles of Caring
Our primary emphasis is upon the things that matter to people – excellent, home cooked, well-presented food; a range of 121 and group activities all day and evening suited to each person’s interests and life histories; premises that are focused on safety and comfort; care delivered with a highly dignified, person-centred approach; and strong leadership by skilled managers with effective communication and quality assurance oversight.
The Big Family
We have created an ethos of having each person and their relatives at the heart of their support plans, including the development and ongoing review of care and treatment. We become their family and they become ours.

Frequently Asked Questions
-What do you provide and who is it for: We provide care, treatment and love for people who have enduring complex physical and mental health conditions. We primarily run safe, comfortable, home-from-home services for people to live in, as well as supporting families. Our staff assist with personal care, emotional support, daily activities, nutrition and companionship. Our approach enhances people’s quality of life, independence and dignity.
–How do I know if my loved one needs a nursing home: If your relative is experiencing loneliness, difficulty meeting daily needs or requires assistance with eating, medication and personal care, get in touch and we can discuss this with you further. We recognise making decisions about moving into our homes can be difficult and overwhelming. We will happily arrange an appointment for you and your relative to come and look around, ask any questions and experience the Belsfield Care difference.
–Are your staff trained and qualified: Yes, we have a rigorous recruitment process to ensure all our staff are safe and effective in supporting vulnerable people. They undergo comprehensive training and background checks so that they can enhance the lives of our residents. We prioritise recruiting staff who are compassionate and dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
–Can I customise the care plan according to my relative’s needs: Absolutely. We pride ourselves in ensuring relatives and their loved ones are at the heart of their care. We can only do this by getting to know people and their families down to the smallest detail and then reviewing this with them on a regular basis. Effective, two-way communication is key to our care planning process so that it addresses specific preferences, requirements and routines.
–How often can I visit and how much can I be involved if I am able: We have no set visiting times, but we do ask if you can avoid mealtimes, unless you wish to support your family member with this. We also ask relatives not to visit between 8pm to 8am to aid residents’ sleep. However, please do discuss with our staff if you have special requirements. We strongly encourage relatives to be as involved in people’s care as they wish and are able to. We will discuss this with you as part of the care planning process.
–What if my family member requires medical attention: We work very closely with our partner agencies, such as community and hospital specialists, social workers and GPs, to ensure a holistic model of care. Our staff are expertly trained to provide basic medical care, but will act swiftly if urgent assistance is required. Whenever we engage with external professionals, including emergencies, we will promptly contact you and keep you informed.
–What if I or my family member is unhappy with our care: we continuously strive to ensure you and your relative experience a service far beyond your expectations. We support you, if you prefer, to make anonymous suggestions or comments and we actively seek your feedback on a regular basis. If you are dissatisfied, we provide information on arrival and display details in the lobby to enable you to raise a complaint. We take all complaints very seriously and we are keen to resolve them as quickly as possible. We also work with you and your family member to learn any lessons to drive improvement.
